Yes. Thiourea Dioxide is used as a reductive stripping agent for certain dyed textiles.

A recent review reports a study in which dyed fabrics treated with 5 g/L thiourea dioxide + 5 g/L NaOH at 100°C achieved dye-stripping efficiencies ranging from approximately 76.77% to 96.45%, depending on the dye.

This is particularly important because stripping performance is dye-dependent.

We therefore recommend testing Thiourea Dioxide dosage × temperature × pH × treatment time, rather than assuming one universal recipe.
