Product Identity

Product NameSRA-2
Product TypeTextile reduction cleaning and stripping agent
ApplicationsDye stripping; reduction cleaning; reprocessing
Suitable FibersPolyester; synthetic fibers; cotton blends

Product Description

SRA-2 is a formulated reducing agent developed for textile reduction cleaning and stripping, with selected fibre pretreatment and finishing support. It is intended for evaluation in reduction cleaning, colour stripping and related textile pretreatment processes on suitable fibres and blends.

Application boundary: SRA-2 is not positioned as a bleaching agent. It is positioned for textile reduction cleaning and stripping on J-fabric, cotton and synthetic fibres. Do not select SRA-2 as a bleaching agent.

Product selection, substrate compatibility and dosage should be confirmed through laboratory screening and controlled production trials. Results depend on fibre type, fabric construction, dye or impurity profile, liquor ratio, alkali, temperature, time and machine conditions.

Key Product Characteristics

Controlled Reductive Action

Designed to provide controlled reducing action for selected pretreatment and finishing processes.

Selected Fibre Applications

Intended for evaluation on suitable cotton and synthetic fibres and selected blends. Compatibility with elastane, wool, silk or other sensitive substrates should be confirmed by trial.

Trial-Based Process Design

The appropriate dose and process conditions depend on substrate, target cleaning or stripping level, liquor ratio, alkali charge, temperature, time and equipment.

Process Evaluation Support

The product can be evaluated using cleaning performance, colour difference, stripping level, weight loss, retained strength, handle, rinseability and process repeatability.

Physical Properties

AppearanceWhite powder
Water solubility at 20 °CTo be confirmed in TDS / on request

Refer to the current TDS and batch COA for applicable product specifications.

Typical Applications

  • Selected fibre pretreatment processes requiring controlled reduction
  • Evaluation for reduction cleaning and colour stripping on J-fabric, cotton and synthetic fibres
  • Selected finishing applications where surface cleaning or colour adjustment is required

Illustrative Starting Formula for Laboratory Screening

Because SRA-2 is used across different substrates and process configurations, no single “standard recipe” is recommended. As a starting point for laboratory evaluation, mills may consider:

  • SRA-2: 1.0–3.0% o.w.f. (to be adjusted according to substrate and target)
  • Caustic soda (50%): as required to reach the target pH
  • Suitable wetting / levelling agent: as per supplier guidance
  • Temperature and time: to be established through a controlled dose–temperature–time trial

Confirm bath volume, dosage basis, pH, heating profile, circulation rate, rinse sequence and wastewater handling before production use.

Trial Evaluation

For pretreatment or finishing evaluations, compare SRA-2 against the current process using a control sample and a dose gradient. Record:

  • Fibre type, fabric construction and initial shade or brightness
  • Product dose and alkali charge
  • pH, temperature and holding time
  • Liquor ratio and machine type
  • Brightness or colour difference
  • Weight loss and retained strength
  • Handle, rinseability and residual odour
  • Repeatability across runs

Do not approve a production recipe until the selected condition has been repeated and confirmed on the intended machine.

Storage and Handling

Store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated area. Protect from moisture, direct sunlight and unnecessary heat exposure. Keep away from strong oxidising agents.

Refer to the current SDS for detailed handling, storage, transport, incompatibility and emergency-response information.
