1.      Product Description
FAS is a stable, non-toxic, and environmentally friendly reducing agent. It is widely used in the papermaking industry as an excellent alternative to Sodium Hydrosulfite. It provides superior performance in pulp bleaching and deinking processes, characterized by high reduction potential and excellent whiteness stability.

2. Physical Properties

  • Appearance: White crystalline powder

  • Chemical Name: Formamidine Sulfinic Acid (FAS)

  • Stability: Stable under dry conditions; decomposes in hot water or alkaline solutions to release sulfoxylic acid.

3. Key Advantages

  • High Efficiency: Offers higher reduction potential and better bleaching effects compared to Sodium Hydrosulfite.

  • Safety & Eco-friendly: Non-flammable, odorless, and safer to handle. It significantly reduces environmental pollution compared  to traditional reducing agents.

  • Stability: Excellent storage stability, non-hygroscopic.

  • Cost-effective: Lower dosage requirement achieves the same  bleaching effect, reducing overall chemical costs.

4. Applications & Recommended Dosage
FAS is suitable for bleaching of mechanical pulp, chemical pulp, and deinking of waste paper.
